I let them cool before taking a teensy slice - yummy! Also, I used my weird, but great, 7x11 pan and the size worked beautifully. I might have done so with a brownie-mix-in-a-box sort of thing during college. Not sure. I'm just not much of a baker. I think it's the precision required. But now you've really got me wanting a brownie, and I like your thoughts on being "open", so...it might be time for a nice pan of brownies.
